Nerja

Nerja is located on the Costa del Sol, 50 minutes from Malaga and is an ideal location to study Spanish and immerse yourself in Spanish culture . It is a village with around 20,000 inhabitants which has retained its individual Andalusian character.

Flanked by mountains and with beautiful beaches, it offers the ideal climate with an average annual temperature of 20ºC. Agriculture, fishing and tourism are the main industries.

Historically, it dates back to Palaeolithic times. However its name originates from Arabic: NARIXA (meaning abundant spring). The open and friendly people, traditions such as Carnival, Holy Week, the fiestas and Patron Saints´ Days and its proximity to major cities (such as Malaga, Granada and Seville) make Nerja the ideal place to study our language and culture.
