With over 366 foreign companies with their European headquarters based in Ireland, fluency in a foreign language will give students the edge in a highly competitive job market. The Language Roadshow by Stein Study Abroad seeks to promote the importance of learning a foreign language as a means of broadening job prospects and travel opportunities. The roadshow includes videos by HR Managers of global companies based here in Ireland talking about their international workforce and the importance of learning a foreign language.

Stein Study Abroad is currently seeking applications from Transition Year or Business Studies Co-ordinators of schools across Ireland to participate in an ‘Apprentice’ style programme. Under the guidance of our marketing team, a team from each participating school will compete by devising and implementing a business plan with a real budget. There will be a certificate for each participant and prizes for the winning teams.
Aim: To give the students practical, hands on experience of building and implementing a business plan with a budget and to see the impact of their promotional campaign within the market.

Stein study Abroad is currently running a Language Scholarship Programme for 4th & 5th year students. Students must submit an essay on ‘My Spare Time’ in either German, French or Spanish in 200 words or less. There are 3 prizes per language category as follows:
1st Prize A two week intensive language course
2nd Prize €100 One-for-All Voucher
3rd Prize €50 One-for-All Voucher
- The closing date for entries is 15/2/12
- The essays will be marked 50% on language and 50% on originality.

We are delighted to announce that the first of five installments of our French Study Guide for the Leaving Cert are now available to download from our website.
The notes have been compiled by Cian Hogan of the Institute of education and our available to download now. Each set of notes gives valuable information on all areas of the examination including the written, oral and aural exams. From now on we will be offering the opportunity for students to spend a term abroad in Spain. They will stay with a Spanish host family and attend the local secondary school. They will study a range of subjects through Spanish and take part in extra-curricular activities through Spanish also. Read_more »
