Stein Study Abroad have joined up with both a College and Lycee in of the best locations in France - Biarritz.
Biarritz is a peaceful haven niched between the Pyrenees mountains and the Atlantic ocean. Originally a quaint fishing village, until the end of 19th century when Napoleon III and the empress Eugenie fell in love with the regions natural beauty, Biarritz rapidly became a fashionable, refined sea side resort.
Biarritz is the heart of the Pays Basque, a region with a strong cultural identity, that has preserved its traditions and offers a fantastic way of life. It is a fantastic location to study french abroad.
Our secondary school term abroad programme gives students the opportunity to immerse themselves in French day to day life and culture. Not only does it help them to improve their language skills but also encourages them to grow as people. The term abroad is perfect for Transition Year pupils but open to all students aged 15-18 who have been studying french for at least 2 years. This course is perfect for highly motivated students looking to embrace the challenge of living life in a new environment through another language. With the oral and aural language skills an integral part of the Leaving Certificate language Curriculum, students who have participated on these programmes have achieved top grades in their Leaving Certificate.
Students essentially become French teenagers. They live with carefully selected host families, attend a local French high school, take subjects through French, and experience French life through complete immersion . The course is available from 6 weeks up to the full school year and is not only a great learning experience, but a great life experience too!
